Finding Value
I find value in every form of life—snow, strawberries, a fly.
I find value in the mineral kingdom and the congress of stars.
I find value in wine while a meal lasts, an involuntary smile,
the fatigue that comes from not holding back,
and an old couple in love.
I find value in what tomorrow will be worth nothing,
and what today is still worth little.
I find value in every sort of wound.
I find value in conserving water, mending a pair of shoes,
holding your tongue, running toward a scream, asking before sitting down,
and feeling grateful without recalling why.
I find value inside a room knowing where north is,
and the name of the wind drying the laundry.
I find value in the rover’s travel, the nun’s retreat,
and the convict’s patience, whatever the crime.
I find value in using the verb “to love”
and in the presumption that a creator exists.
Many of these values I have not known.

Matteo has a new heart. A woman’s heart. And with another woman who is also recovering from open heart surgery, he sets about trying to recover his old life by scaling one of the most foreboding peaks in the Dolomites. An amazing short story in the form of a movie script, in which every heartbeat resonates in a way you’ve never heard before.
Ciao!
After a long day in Los Angeles with Silvia, I “challenged” the one hour drive back home, with a smile, even though a tired one, ready to enjoy the chatter of NPR’s evening.
We spent the previous two hours to a meeting organized from the “Independent Film”, where the two very cool Sundance Film Festival Senior Programmer John Nein and Shorts Programmer Mike Plante answered patiently to a series of questions…programming philosophy, what type of movies they look for, dispel some myths, and suggest some do’s and don’ts when submitting your project., and more and more.
After listening to all this, to take the 405 HWY and having the fortune to listen again other incredible human beings speaking about a list of 888 books that they assembled, it’s a gift that I would like to share with you.
Click on the link below… Happy listening, and for me … goodnight!
Yesterday last day of shooting for the film “Il turno di notte lo fanno le stelle” (The Night shift is covered by the stars) and the last take was given by the mountain, with a storm which sent the whole team into the dressing room: it was only fitting that the mountain would write the word “The End” to this lucky film. Last climbing steps by Nastassja Kinski on the Dolomites: the lightest ones so far. Post production will take place in Los Angeles under the direction of Edoardo Ponti, and the mix Pacific Ocean/Dolomites will be worthy of fireworks! Welcome back home to Edoardo, Nastassja, Julian, Enrico. Erri remains in the Dolomites.
