The Dolomites joined on 26 June 2009 an exraordinary site: UNESCO Heritage! Now, not only they are probably the most beautiful mountains in the world with a very unique geological history, but after our experience with “Il turno di notte lo fanno le stelle”, they also have a very special place in our hearts…
The Dolomites – UNESCO World Heritage Centre.
After one of the most amazing experiences I ever had in my life, like being part of the “making of” Stars work the night shift, filmed in the Dolomites, let’s do something different, while waiting for the editing…let’s think about what to do in France…in August!
JOANA VASCONCELOS AT VERSAILLES
“After Jeff Koons and Takashi Murakami, this Parisian-born Portuguese artist is the latest to show at Versailles, where her exuberant works bubble over with bonheur. In the Grands Apartments and the Gardens, we encounter Marilyn, a pair of pumps made of cooking pots and lids; Blue Champagne, a collection of thousand bottles illuminating the chateau terrace; and Caracao Indipendante, two suspended hearts in black and red, one representing passion, the other, death.” Through September…let’s go!
Shooting a movie on the Dolomites gave to all of us so many things to carry in our “backpack” of special memories, even now that our post-production moved in Los Angeles. Just something more to share with you, like…Alpine flowers!
I would like to start with the “Blue Saxifrage (Saxifraga caesia), Erri’s favorite flower…
This strong little gem is a perennial cushion plant that grows in rock crevices and screes, between 500-2500 meters.
beautiful Saxifrage, we love your tenacity towards life, showing your beauty every time we discovered you among rocks…
Yesterday last day of shooting for the film “Il turno di notte lo fanno le stelle” (The Night shift is covered by the stars) and the last take was given by the mountain, with a storm which sent the whole team into the dressing room: it was only fitting that the mountain would write the word “The End” to this lucky film. Last climbing steps by Nastassja Kinski on the Dolomites: the lightest ones so far. Post production will take place in Los Angeles under the direction of Edoardo Ponti, and the mix Pacific Ocean/Dolomites will be worthy of fireworks! Welcome back home to Edoardo, Nastassja, Julian, Enrico. Erri remains in the Dolomites.
Enrico Lo Verso and his first day of shooting…great emotions for all of us…
Just a personal, short note. I’m taking a pause from the painful process of packing, sitting in the company of Celestino and Violetta, my lovely birds…tomorrow I will fly to Italy, to be with part of the team of “Il turno di notte lo fanno le stelle”. Silvia will join us in few days, flying from LA to Italy with our amazing leading actress, Nastassja. Finally, after a very complicated year, we are starting to see our dream unveiled, a dream we never gave up on. With Erri De Luca words, with Edoardo Ponti’s vision, with an exceptional cast and crew, we are making the idea we always visioned, REAL, at least for the time of a movie…more to come…more to share…buonanotte or…buongiorno!
